What each candidate status means

From Invited to Shortlisted: what each of the seven statuses means and which moves are possible.

StatusMeaning
InvitedThe invite was sent; they haven't started.
In progressThey've started recording.
CompletedThey submitted. Ready for review.
Under reviewYour team is looking at it.
ShortlistedYou want to take them further.
RejectedNot going forward. This is final.
ExpiredThe deadline passed before they submitted.

Who changes what

  • Invited, In progress, Completed and Expired change on their own as the candidate acts or the deadline passes.
  • From Completed you can move to Under review, Shortlisted or Rejected.
  • From Under review or Shortlisted you can move to Rejected.
  • Anyone not yet completed can be Rejected.
  • Rejected can't be undone.

An Expired interview can be reopened by changing its deadline. See Deadlines, reminders and giving more time.
